Despite the availability of various treatment options, such as topical agents, systemic medications, and biologics, the treatment of psoriasis remains challenging due to its complex pathophysiology, genetic predisposition, and variable clinical presentation. Therefore, there is a need for new safe and effective treatments for psoriasis. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has long been used to treat various skin diseases, including psoriasis. Xianglinmaojue (XL) is a type of TCM derived from the rhizome of Dryopteris fragrans, which has been shown to have potential therapeutic effects on psoriasis.Hypothesis:XL exerts its therapeutic effects on psoriasis by modulating immune responses and regulating keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation through its active constituents.Objectives:1. To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of XL on psoriasis in an animal model.2. To identify the active constituents of XL using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).3. To evaluate the immunomodulatory and anti-proliferative effects of XL and its active constituents on psoriasis.Methods:1. Animal model: Psoriasis-like lesions will be induced in mice by topical application of imiquimod (IMQ) cream to the shaved back skin. The mice will be randomly assigned to three groups: (1) XL treatment group, (2) IMQ-alone group, and (3) vehicle control group. The XL treatment group will receive daily oral administratio...
