This paper introduces the proof of the theorem, describes the geometric meaning of the Lagrange mean value theorem and its internal relation with other differential mean value theorems, and expounds some properties of the theorem. In this paper, through the combination of university teaching materials and sample questions collected in the postgraduate entrance examination data, the application methods of the theorem in several types of questions are obtained, and the application methods of Lagrange mean value theorem are further explored. Through the comparative analysis of the similar questions, the similarities and differences between the Lagrange mean value theorem and the related theorem in the application scope and method are obtained.
