In this paper, numerical simulation method is used to study the directional solidification process of Al-1.96%molCu alloy, and the grain growth behavior is analyzed. First, the phase equilibrium data of the alloy is calculated using the thermodynamic database. Then, a computational model is established and solved using the finite element method to obtain the temperature and concentration field distributions. Second, the crystal orientation evolution process is simulated using the coupled crystallography theory, and the morphological evolution law in the process of grain growth is simulated using the physical model. Finally, the simulation results are compared and analyzed, and suggestions and ideas for optimizing the process are proposed based on this.Keywords: aluminum-copper alloy, directional solidification, numerical simulation, grain growth
