In this study, AZ102 magnesium alloy was used as the research object, and Ni and RE elements were used for composite addition. The effects of Ni and RE on the microstructure and properties of AZ102 magnesium alloy were investigated through metallographic microscope, scanning electron microscope, hardness test and tension test. The results show that with the increase of Ni and RE addition, the grain size and precipitation amount of AZ102 magnesium alloy increase. At the same time, within a certain range of addition, the composite addition of Ni and RE can effectively improve the hardness and tensile strength of AZ102 magnesium alloy, but excessive addition will lead to a decrease in the toughness of the material. Therefore, this study provides a certain reference for the further exploration of the application of Ni and RE in magnesium alloys.Keywords: AZ102 magnesium alloy, Ni, RE, composite addition, microstructure, properties
