The aim of this study was to clone the STAT1 gene of Northeast sika deer (Cervus elaphus sibiricus) and analyze its expression in deer antler by immunohistochemistry. The full-length sequence of the Northeast sika deer STAT1 gene was cloned by PCR, and the sequence was analyzed using bioinformatics tools. The results showed that the full-length sequence of the gene was 2290bp, encoding for 707 amino acids with typical characteristics of the STAT family. Immunohistochemistry results showed that STAT1 was expressed in the epithelial and stromal cells of deer antler, while it was not detected in neurons. This study provides useful information for further understanding the immune regulation mechanisms of Northeast sika deer.Keywords: Northeast sika deer, STAT1 gene, cloning, deer antler, immunohistochemistry.
