LC voltage-controlled oscillator is a common RF circuit, widely used in communication, radar, antenna and other fields. In this paper, the basic principle and structural characteristics of LC oscillator are first introduced, and then the design and implementation process of the oscillator are discussed in detail. Specifically, this paper determines the device size and parameters through analysis and simulation, and then designs and optimizes the circuit schematic and physical layout using Cadence software. Finally, this paper verifies the designed LC voltage-controlled oscillator through experiments, and gives test results and performance indicators.
