ER can be divided into rough and smooth ER, among which rough ER has close relationship with mRNA, protein synthesis and ribosomes in the cytoplasm. ER has a certain hierarchical structure inside, and the morphology and structure of the internal membrane of ER determine the realization and regulation of its function. In the process of formation and maintenance of ER internal membrane, Atlastin, as an important mediating protein, participates in the fusion of ER internal membrane and homologous membrane.
