Estrogen is a key molecule in the regulation of reproductive function and has an important effect on the reproductive development of mice. In this study, we used LepR gene-deficient mice to investigate the effects of exogenous estradiol stimulation and gene defects on the reproductive function of adult mice. The results showed that both male and female LepR gene-deficient mice had reduced levels of testosterone and progesterone, but only female mice showed reproductive disorders. After exogenous estradiol stimulation, female mice showed more obvious reproductive disorders. This study suggests that LepR gene defects have a significant impact on the reproductive function of adult mice, and the regulation of reproductive function by exogenous estrogen may be complex. Keywords:LepR gene defect; reproductive disorder; exogenous estrogen; mice; reproductive function.
