The child dummy currently used in China mainly refers to European standards, but due to differences in body structure, physiological characteristics and other aspects, it has limitations in predicting vehicle crash safety performance. Therefore, it is particularly important to develop a dummy model suitable for Chinese children. This paper proposes a development and verification method for a finite element model of the head and neck of a child dummy, aiming to improve the accuracy and reliability of child crash safety assessment.Firstly, the current research status and development trends of child dummies are introduced, and the problems they face are analyzed. Then, the model was verified using experimental data, and the accuracy and reliability of the model were analyzed.
