W-band (75 GHz to 110 GHz), as a part of the millimeter-wave frequency band, has many unique advantages, such as high data rate, wide bandwidth, and high resolution. Therefore, the study of W-band radio frequency (RF) components has become a hot topic in the field of high-frequency electronics.Orthogonal mixers are widely used in RF systems for frequency conversion. Compared with traditional mixers, orthogonal mixers have the advantages of high isolation, low conversion loss, and broadband operation. However, few studies have been conducted on W-band orthogonal mixers, which limits their use in W-band RF systems.Research Objectives:The objectives of this research are as follows:1. To design and optimize the structure of W-band orthogonal mixer based on the Schottky diode.2. To simulate and analyze various performance parameters of the W-band orthogonal mixer, including conversion loss, isolation, and bandwidth.3. To fabricate and test the W-band orthogonal mixer using microelectronics technology.4. To investigate the application of the W-band orthogonal mixer in W-band radar and communication systems.5.
