Through literature research, it was found that Chinese herbs often contain a considerable amount of heavy metals, which can seriously affect human health. Therefore, finding an effective and safe solution is particularly important.This study will use γ-mercaptopropyl bonded silica gel as the removing agent to carry out experiments on different Chinese herb samples, measure the heavy metal content in the samples, and compare the differences before and after treatment. At the same time, the study will explore the optimal removing conditions of γ-mercaptopropyl bonded silica gel, including dosage, temperature, time, and other factors, to achieve the best removing effect.The research results can provide references for Chinese medicine processing and quality control, and also expand the application of γ-mercaptopropyl bonded silica gel in the field of environmental pollution control.Keywords: γ-mercaptopropyl bonded silica gel, Chinese herbs, heavy metals, removal efficiency
