The German functionalist theory advocates that language should enable people to communicate and understand more effectively. Based on this premise, this paper will discuss how to translate Shanxi tourism materials more accurately, clearly and concisely. At the same time, through comparative analysis of examples of different types of Shanxi tourism materials, this paper discusses that different forms and types of translation require different strategies and methods to achieve the best translation effect.
