In practical engineering, the effect of corrosion on the shear carrying capacity of reinforced concrete simply supported beams is relatively common. Therefore, this paper focuses on the shear carrying capacity of corroded reinforced concrete simply supported beams.Firstly, this paper will introduce the traditional theoretical calculation methods and experimental testing methods, explore their applicability, limitations, advantages and disadvantages for calculating the shear carrying capacity of corroded reinforced concrete simply supported beams. Subsequently, ANSYS software will be used for numerical simulation analysis to explore the differences between simulation results and experimental results and their causes.
