They are characterized by a slow-moving low-pressure system of a few hundreds of kilometers wide, and a cold vortex located in its center. In recent years, strong convective weather events have occurred frequently in the Tianjin area under the influence of long-lived cold eddies. The meteorological phenomenon has brought great harm to the society. However, the cause and mechanism of these weather events are not yet known. This study aims to explore the circulation background and case simulation experiment of this type of strong convective weather, and provide a scientific basis for disaster prevention and mitigation.Research methods:This study mainly uses the WRF model to simulate a strong convective weather event that occurred in the Tianjin region from July 19 to 21, 2024.
