Among the existing numerical methods, the finite element method is a commonly used method. This paper will study the finite element method for nonlinear Hamiltonian systems and conduct comparative analysis.The main content of this paper includes: Firstly, introducing the basic concepts and properties of Hamiltonian systems and nonlinear Hamiltonian systems, as well as the basic principles and algorithms of the finite element method. Then, based on the finite element method, numerical simulations are conducted for a typical class of nonlinear Hamiltonian systems, and the results are analyzed and compared. Finally, the existing finite element methods are compared, and their applicability and advantages and disadvantages are discussed.The significance of this research lies in: On the one hand, through the numerical simulation study of nonlinear Hamiltonian systems, deepening the understanding of its properties, providing theoretical support for physical experiments; on the other hand, comparing and studying the existing finite element methods can provide researchers with a reasonable selection method and optimization scheme.Keywords: Hamiltonian system; nonlinear Hamiltonian system; finite element method; numerical simulation; comparative analysis
