This paper studies the response of nonlinear systems under non-stationary stochastic excitation and discusses two computational methods: one based on statistical linearization and the other based on Monte Carlo simulation.Firstly, this paper introduces the basic concepts of non-stationary stochastic processes, different types of nonlinear systems, and analyzes the response characteristics of nonlinear systems under non-stationary stochastic excitation. Then, the application principles and computational steps of the two methods, based on statistical linearization and Monte Carlo simulation, are discussed in detail, and the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods are compared and analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness of the two methods is verified through numerical simulations, and the prospects and directions for future research are proposed.Keywords: Nonlinear systems; Non-stationary stochastic processes; Statistical linearization; Monte Carlo simulation.
