Problems of English Classroom Questioning in Senior High Schools and StrategiesAbstract: Classroom questioning, an important means which teachers apply to stimulate students’ language output, is one of the main patterns for teacher-student interaction and plays a very important role in classroom teaching. Systematically, foreign language teaching is one teacher-dominated and student-oriented process of linguistic interaction. Questioning is the most useful to illuminate students, by means of which teachers could motivate students’ interests and offer them the original motive force for study. Effective questioning can arouse students’ curiosity, assist them think and combine their own experience with what they learned, and guide the profound understanding of knowledge. This Study applies interaction theory in second language classroom and the linguistic application theory, and solves the issues as follows, what are the influential factors for classroom-questioning of middle school English? And what are the positive tactics for effective classroom-questioning of middle school English? The study will have positive guiding significance for teaching practice and research of high school English classroom.
