There is no one commonly accepted definition for `rural' (Willits,Beatler,&Timbers, 1990). In Webster's dictionary, `rural' is defined as "of or pertaining to the country, as distinguished from a city or town; living in the country; and farming/agricultural" (Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, 1998). `Rural' applies to sparsely settled or agricultural country.
