Firstly, the safety system and working principle of AP1000 nuclear power plant were briefly introduced. Secondly, the reasons and impacts of hydrogen gas generation in the safety shell were analyzed. Then, common hydrogen gas mitigation measures such as hydrogen exhaust system, hydrogen gas deflector, hydrogen gas combustion and hydrogen gas adsorbent were expounded. Finally, a new type of hydrogen gas mitigation measure - water film evaporator was proposed according to the special requirements of AP1000 nuclear power plant. The feasibility and effectiveness of the water film evaporator as a mitigation measure for hydrogen gas were verified through simulation and imitation.Keywords: AP1000 nuclear power plant; safety shell; hydrogen gas risk; hydrogen gas mitigation measures; water film evaporator
