Epithelialization is one of the main clinical manifestations of this disease. This study aimed to investigate the effects of IL-6 and IL-10 on EGF-induced epithelialization of HGFs in vitro. The results showed that IL-6 could reduce EGF-induced epithelialization of HGFs, while IL-10 could enhance EGF-induced epithelialization of HGFs. This study provides a reference basis for exploring the pathogenesis of periodontal disease and also provides new ideas for its treatment.Keywords: human gingival fibroblasts, epithelialization, IL-6, IL-10, EGF.
