IntroductionCarrier aggregation (CA) is a key technology used in modern wireless communication systems, allowing for better utilization of available spectrum and increased data rates. The introduction of Low Energy Triggered Access (LET-A) into the CA framework provides an additional mechanism to improve system performance and throughput. However, the use of LET-A-CA introduces new challenges related to mobility management, which need to be addressed to fully realize the benefits of this technology. This project aims to investigate the impact of mobility on LET-A-CA and propose optimization techniques to enhance the overall system performance.2. Background and MotivationMobile devices connect to the network through a base station (BS), which may broadcast multiple downlink carriers with distinct frequencies. In CA, multiple carriers can be aggregated to provide a wider bandwidth, which results in a higher data rate. When an LET-A-CA-enabled network is available, mobile devices can make use of the trigger functionality to initiate communication without waiting for periodic beacons from the BS. However, the trigger mechanism requires accurate location information and may cause additional signaling overhead, which can affect the overall system performance. Moreover, the mobility of the device can cause additional channel variations, resulting in inter-band interference and handover issues.3. ObjectivesThe objective of this project is to investigate the impact of mobility on LET-A-CA and propose mobility optimization techniques to enhance the system performance. The following specific objectives are defined:1....
