However, membrane fouling is still one of the main problems that restrict the application and promotion of MBR. In order to further improve and optimize the performance of MBR in treating domestic wastewater, a series of experiments were conducted in this paper to explore the effects of different operating conditions on membrane fouling rate.The experimental results showed that the steady-state reaction time of the MBR system has a significant effect on the membrane fouling rate. As the steady-state reaction time increases, the membrane fouling rate gradually decreases. In addition, the membrane fouling rate is also affected by the aeration rate and sludge concentration. Increasing the aeration rate can promote the growth and metabolic activity of biofilms, thus reducing the membrane fouling rate.
