Firstly, a jaundice model was prepared by orally administering wormwood oil to dogs and injecting 4-methylpyrazole. Total bilirubin and bound bilirubin levels in blood were measured. Secondly, HSA-bilirubin was obtained by complexing HSA with bilirubin and purifying the complex through methods like ultrafiltration and centrifugation. Finally, a CA/PEI/HSA-bilirubin membrane was prepared. Experimental results showed that HSA-bilirubin complex had the best yellow reduction effect on the CA/PEI membrane when its concentration was 1.0mg/ml. This study suggests that the yellow reduction effect of HSA-bilirubin complex on CA/PEI membrane may be related to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.Keywords: canine jaundice model; bilirubin-albumin complex; CA/PEI membrane; yellow reduction effect.
