The aim of this study is to investigate whether the transfection of BMP-7 gene mediated by a modified adeno-associated virus vector (recombinant adeno-associated virus, rAAV2) affects the differentiation of human dental pulp cells. Identification and analysis of the transfected cells were carried out by immunofluorescence and cell identification methods to determine whether BMP-7 transfection affects cell differentiation, morphology and function. The results of this study are expected to provide better treatment methods and means for dental practitioners.Keywords: BMP-7, adeno-associated virus vector, transfection, dental pulp cells, cell differentiation.
