By using Sn-Sb alloys with different proportions, melting experiments were carried out at different temperatures. Thermal analysis and differential thermal analysis were used to analyze the structural transformation of the melt. Metallographic microscope was used to observe the microstructure changes during the solidification process. The research results show that in the Sn-Sb alloy melt, when the proportion of Sn is greater, there are SnSb, SnSb2 and Sn3Sb2 compounds in the melt. When the proportion of Sn is smaller, there are mainly SbSn and Sb3Sn compounds in the melt. In addition, structural changes in the melt during solidification will have a great impact on the structure and morphology of the solidification process. Different melt structure transformations will cause phase changes and changes in crystal growth direction during the solidification process.Keywords: Sn-Sb alloy, melt structure transformation, solidification process, metallographic microscope.
