This article reviews the currently commonly used classification methods for alpha-beta proteins folding types, analyzes their advantages and disadvantages, discusses the importance of classification methods, and possible research directions in the future. Among the currently used classification methods, SCOP and CATH are the two most widely used classification systems. The SCOP system is based on structure and evolution, focusing on readability of classification results, but the classification process is more complex; the CATH system is based on structure and function, focusing on the reliability and accuracy of classification results, but the classification granularity is relatively fine and the classification results need to be manually corrected. In addition, some new classification methods such as FRankenstein, PDB-care, and HOMSTRAD are also being continuously researched and explored. Continuously improving the classification method of alpha-beta protein folding types helps to deepen our understanding of the structure and function of proteins and biological evolution.精品文档---下载后可任意编辑Keywords: alpha-beta proteins; folding types; classification method; SCOP; CATH; FRankenstein; PDB-care; HOMSTRAD
