The display controller is an important IP core in the SoC, which is responsible for converting graphic information into electrical signals and outputting them to the display, directly affecting the graphic quality, system power consumption, code complexity and other aspects. Therefore, how to design an excellent display controller has become a hot research topic.In view of the special requirements of SoC integration and the existing problems in the current design, this paper proposes a new display controller design method oriented to SoC integration. This method aims to achieve low power consumption, high bandwidth, flexible and configurable, and high reliability display output function, and achieve comprehensive functions, simple code, and easy maintenance design goals through a series of optimizations.The research contents of this paper include: Special requirements analysis of SoC integration, IP design based on AMBA protocol, design of graphic processing unit, design of video output management unit, power consumption optimization, timing calibration, etc. Through relevant experiments, this design method has good performance in various indicators, and shows excellent comprehensive performance, with broad application prospects.Keywords: SoC; display controller; graphic processing; AMBA protocol; power consumption optimization.
