As the foundation of children's reading, the illustration creation of picture books is an indispensable part of picture books. Therefore, this paper aims to explore the related issues of children's picture book illustration creation based on the emotional needs of children.This paper first introduces the development process and current situation of children's picture books at home and abroad, and elaborates the importance of children's picture books. Next, this paper studies the concept and related theories of children's emotional needs.
