However, the poor corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys limits its application in various fields. Ionic liquid electroplating technology is an environmentally friendly method for aluminum plating, which can improve the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloy surfaces. This paper will investigate the application of aluminum electroplating using ionic liquids on magnesium alloys and its corrosion resistance mechanism.Firstly, a literature review will explain the principle, advantages, and applications of ionic liquid electroplating technology for metal surface treatment. Then, the application of magnesium alloy and the research status and problems of its corrosion resistance will be introduced, as well as the strengthening effect of aluminum coatings on magnesium alloy surfaces.
