They are typically designed to withstand the harsh offshore environment and the dynamic forces caused by waves, currents, and the drilling process. However, the dynamic response and fatigue behavior of TTRs under the flow remain poorly understood. This study aims to investigate the dynamic response and fatigue of TTRs subjected to flow-induced loading. The research will start with a literature review to summarize the current knowledge of TTRs and their response to flow-induced loading. The theoretical background and numerical methods for dynamic analysis and fatigue assessment will be presented. The study will focus on a TTR model subjected to dynamic flow conditions using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. The influence of flow parameters such as velocity, turbulence intensity, and wave-induced flow on the dynamic response and fatigue behavior of TTRs will be investigated. The study will also conduct experimental testing on a TTR model to validate the numerical simulation results. The fatigue behavior of the TTR model under different flow conditions will be evaluated using a rainflow count algorithm. The expected outcomes of this study include: (1) a better understanding of the dynamic response and fatigue behavior of TTRs under flow; (2) evaluation of the effects of flow-induced loading on TTRs; (3) data for the design of TTRs in flow-dominated marine environments. Keywords: top tensioned riser, flow-induced loading, dynamic response, fatigue, computational fluid dynamics.
