However, in the construction process, there are often problems such as poor soil quality or settlement of the foundation, which have a certain impact on road use and traffic safety. In order to solve these problems, certain reinforcement measures need to be taken. Based on the vacuum-piling combined preloading reinforcement technology, this paper explores its mechanism and advantages and disadvantages through numerical simulation.Firstly, this paper introduces the necessity of soft foundation reinforcement of highways and the shortcomings of existing reinforcement methods, and then proposes the superiority of vacuum-piling combined preloading reinforcement technology. Then, the principle and basic working process of the technology are described in detail, and different reinforcement measures are proposed for different soft foundation soil characteristics. Finally, using numerical simulation method, the working mechanism, advantages and disadvantages, and reinforcement effect of the technology in the reinforcement process are analyzed in detail, in order to provide reference for practical engineering application.Keywords: highway; soft foundation reinforcement; vacuum-piling combined preloading reinforcement; mechanism; numerical simulation
