The goal is to expose the energy management system (EMS) to extreme temperature and environment. This ensures the system will operate appropriately under stressed conditions. The vehicle test trips often compose of hot, cold, and altitude conditions. Because the test trips are sensitive to suitable weather conditions, using climatic chambers for extreme temperature testing has been used to supplement calibration process when seasonal constraints and production timing do not line up.
