However, humor translation of subtitles in sitcoms does not arouse much attention. Based on the theory of Vermeer's Skopostheorie, this paper presents a case study of humorous languages in the popular American sitcom The Big Bang Theory by analyzing the three kinds of humor and the strategies that translators adopt.
