Abstract Novel, as one kind of four literary genres(prose, novel, poet, theatre), is based on portraying the character image, by describing completed plots and environment to reflect the life and express its thought. As a kind of literature work consisting of completed layout,development and theme, it plays an important communication role in the human’s times process, guiding us forward. Now, more and more Chinese novels are being translated into foreign languages to express their ideas to the international world,which has been an irresistible trend. The translation practice selected two parts from Let Go and Move On to finish the translation. Let Go and Move On is a Chinese novel about love and growth, which is made up according to real matters, leading people to go through an impressive journey. Under the guidance of Tytler’s Principles of Translation, the research will make analyses about the source part and translation version, which include the definition, content and relevant translation skill such as omission. As a popular novel in the past, it still has a long way to go a broad world, so the research is helpful for its expansion. At the same time,the translation practice will stress the importance of Tytler’s Principles and be helpful to the improvement of the researcher’s translation skill to some extent.
