On the Translation of Public Signs in Scenic Spots from the Perspective of Skopos TheoryAbstract : With the progress of society, Chinese cultures are becoming more and more popular with international friends and International exchanges are also becoming more frequent. Therefore, more attention has been paid to the development of public signs.It is very important for us because the public signs are everywhere, and they serve to inform people and indicate people’s behavior in tourism. It has four application functions. For example, indicative, Suggestive, restrictive and Mandatory. However, the situation of public signs is not as optimistic as expected in China. There are also exist a lot of problems such as incorrect grammar, spelling mistake and violation of common expressions, and more importantly, it has seriously affected the international image of our country. So, this article is based on the principles of translation, analyzes the types of errors in public signs and find the practical methods to solve the problems about translation of public signs.
