They clean their houses, make different kinds of food and buy lots of fireworks. Big red lanterns are hung in front of the doors. On the eve, red couplets and the Chinese character Fu(福) are posted on doors and walls which symbolize happiness and good luck. The festival is a time for all family 1members to get together to have reunion dinner. At the dinner，the most popular food is jiaozi. After the dinner, people watch the Spring Festival Evening Gala, a performance on CCTV loved by almost everyone. When the clock strikes 12 at midnight, people set off fireworks which is one of the most favorite ways of celebrating the Spring Festival.On the first day of the Spring Festival，people wear their new clothes and early in the morning they go to visit the old and their friends to wish good luck to one another.
