AbstractThis paper aims at the origin of the minimalism, and through analysis of today's white domestic appliances so as to guide the design of white domestic appliances in the future.there are huge contacts between Japan's "wabi-sabi" aesthetics and "act of Zen".Minimalism came from abstractionism at the first begging, while later it came into the architecture field, and finally penetrated into product design. Nowadays, minimalism pays a significant impact on the white domestic appliances design. This paper will focus on the analysis of bady mass, buttons, and material of the white domestic appliances, so as to discover the rules of minimalism in the white domestic appliances design. Finally,by using the theory, the author will use the graduation design to check and prove the thesis.
