My inspiration came from my sister Vicki, a kind and caring person. In the summer, I received a phone call from my father saying that Vicki was sent to the hospital. She had a serious brain problem and the doctor didn’t give her more than three months to live. I was overcome with shock and sadness, but I decided that Vicki needed hope and encouragement. I went to the hospital every day to encourage Vicki to fight against the disease. The month of August arrived and new term was starting, but I didn’t want to go to sch ool. All I wanted to do was staying with Vicki. She became angry and told me not to worry because she would be fine. After going back to school, I would talk to Vicki, "I’m fighting for you and I will never quit. As long as you never quit fighting we will beat this."A few months had passed and she was still holding on. One day when I talked about Vicki’s situation with my friend, she asked a question that really made me think. She said, "Do you think the reason why she hasn’t gone is that she doesn’t want to let you down?" Maybe she was right. Maybe I was selfish for encouraging Vicki to keep fighting. That night before falling asleep, I said to her, "Vicki, I understand that you’re in a lot of pain and that you might like to go. We didn’t lose you because you never quit fighting. If you want to go to a better place then I understand. We will be together again soon. I love you and I’ll always be with you wherever you are." Isn’t it amazing? I like to play the violin and the piano. I have joined the music club in my high school and I put on performances at big parties at the end of the term each year.
