第1页共6页编号：时间：2021年x月x日书山有路勤为径，学海无涯苦作舟页码：第1页共6页Theimplicationsofderegulation&liberalizationonthelogisticsserviceindustryinLaoPDRThisstudyanalysesthedevelopmentoftheLaofreightlogisticssectorwithaspecialfocusonfactorsinfluencingfreightlogisticsservicesefficiencyaftertheprocessesofliberalizationandderegulationoftheeconomy.Basedonempiricaldata,thestudyfocusesontwomaindimensionsoftheLaofreightlogisticssector:(i)thedevelopmentofaprivatefreightlogisticssectorsincetheformulationoftheNewEconomicMechanism(NEM)thatprogressivelyopenedtheLaoeconomytotheworld;(ii)theLaofreightlogisticssector'sawarenessofopportunitiesandchallengesarisingfromLaoPDR'sparticipationinASEAN,GMSandhopefullytheWTOinthenearfuture.StrategicchoiceforIstanbul:Adomesticorinternationalorientationforlogistics?ThegeographicallocationofTurkeyingeneral,andIstanbulinparticular,inawiderregionencompassingtheBlackSea,Balkans,CaucasusandMiddleEastprovidesanabsoluteadvantageforthecitytobecomeanimportantinternationallogisticsnode.RecentresearchhasalsoidentifiedTurkeyasthefifthlargestlogisticsmarketintheworld.Therefore,promotingIstanbulasalogisticscenterofinternationalimportancehasbeenhighontheagendaoftheTurkishcentralgovernment,cityauthorities,andinterestgroupsinrecentyears.Toachievethisaim,localandcentralgovernmentshavebeensponsoringnewinfrastructuralprojectstostrengthenthepositionofthecityasaworld-classlogisticscenter.However,otherresearchhaspointedtoseriousproblemsresultingfromlegislativeshortcomings,lackofcoordinationamongpublicbodies,mistakesinimplementation,andinsufficienciesininfrastructureandhumancapital.ThisarticleisbasedonaresearchprojectinvolvinglogisticsfirmsinIstanbuldesignedtoinvestigatethestrengthsandweaknessesofIstanbulinitsquesttobecomeasalogisticscenterservingawiderregionbeyondTurkey.Theresultsoftheinterviewsandsurveyhaveshownthattoday,logisticsactivityintheMarmararegion(andIstanbulinparticular)ismainlytheresultofeconomicactivitiestakingplaceinanationalcontext,ratherthantheresultofentrepôtorlogisticsnodeoperationsataregionalorgloballevel.Inthepromotionalliteratureofpublicauthorities,nevertheless,’linkswithTurkicrepublics’and’abridgebetweenEuropeandAsia’arerepeatedlyreferredto,despitetheirdiminishingrelevancetotheoperationalrequirementsofTurkishlogisticscompanies.Bureaucraticandlegislativeimplementationdeficiencies,andconsequenttransportshortcomingsseemtooccupyamoreconcreteandhigherplaceontheiragendaforthegrowthoflogisticsserviceprovision.Policyformationneedstorecognizethisorderingofprioritiesinordertointegrateeconomicandurbanplanningmoreeffectively.Supplychainintegrationwiththird-partylogisticsprovidersThisstudyusedthesupportofextanttheorytoproposethattherearesignificantdifferencesintheposturesoffirmsthatincludelogisticsprovidersintheirsupplychainmanagementeffortsversusthosethatdonot.Further,weidentifiedfoursupplychainmanagementconstructsasbeingimportantfactorsinpredictingfirmperformance,andthencomparedtheirlevelsofperceivedimportanceofthesefactors第2页共6页第1页共6页编号：时间：2021年x月x日书山有路勤为径，学海无涯苦作舟页码：第2页共6页acrossthetwogroupsoffirms.Ouranalysissupportsthepremisethatinformationintegration,3PLselectioncriteria,performanceevaluation,andrelationshipbuildingarepositivelycorrelatedwithfirmperformance.Also,ourresultsshowthatfirmsthatinclude3PLsinth...
