PurdueUniversityKrannertSchoolofManagementDeanhand-pickedteamof45elitestudents,makingthirdStudyAbroadProgramtoNationalChengchiUniversityAgroupofforeignvisitorsrecentlyshowedupinthetranquilfootofMt.Chih-nan.Theyarethe45studentssentoutbytheworld’sNo.11th,PurdueUniversity’sbusinessschool,ofwhichhalfofthemareelitestudentsfromtheManagementHonorsProgram.ThegrouparrivedatCNCCUonMar.14foraneight-dayAsianmanagementstudytrip.ThefirstsuchstudyabroadprogramatCNCCUconductedthreeyearsagowashighlyeffective,andreceivedpraisefromRichardA.Cosier,theDeanofPurdueUniversity’sbusinessschool.NCCU,beingtheprimarychoiceforconductingstudyabroadprograminthelastthreeconsecutiveyears,exemplifiesworldtopuniversities’interestintheAsiaenvironmentandTaiwan'senterprises,whichalsoimplicatesrecognitionofTaiwan’sbusinesseducationexcellence.,Thisyear’sPurduestudentstudyabroadgroupisledbytheAssociateDeanofitsbusinessschool,Dr.KweiTang.Atotalof45businessundergraduatestudentscametovisit,withoverhalfofthemarefreshmen,and25areManagementHonorstudents.Onlythosewith3.7GPA(outof4.0),orSATscoreof1870andabove(outof2400)maybeeligibletoapplyfortheprogram,followedbyastrictselectionprocess.SincePurdueisaninternationalrenowneduniversity,thevisitinggroupiscomprisedofstudentsfromincludingmainlandChinaandtheMiddleEast,averydiversestudentbody.Inthefive-daycourses,CNCCU,forthefirsttime,arrangedaMandarincourseinthefirstday,toprovidestudentsanopportunitytolearnthebasicdailyconversationsthatcanbeappliedduringthetrip.Asforspecializedcourses,IMBA’soutstandingfacultyteamhasdesignedarichcurriculumtailoredforthestudents,includingthecurrentpopulartopicsrangingfrom"CrossBorderStrategicAlliances,""DevelopmentofICTIndustryinAsiaPost-FinancialCrisis,”tocross-straitissues.Inaddition,intheculturalaspect,formerExecutivePlanningOfficerofEpsonTaiwan,MarkChiu,acclaimedastheITindustryexpertandatthesametime,thevisitingprofessoratNCCU’sCultureandCreativeIndustryProgram,willbesharinghisviewswiththeforeignstudentsinthecourse,“ChinesePhilosophyandStrategyBehavior.”Asidefromclassroominstruction,fieldtriptoHsinchuScienceParkhasalsobeenarrangedforstudentstopersonallyexperienceanddevelopadeeperinsightintoTaiwan’sITindustry.Differentfromexchangeprograms,whereperiodsarelongerandspendingareconsiderablyhigher,moreandmorestudentsoptionforfieldstudiestoexperiencecross-culturallearning.Inthetrendofglobalization,studyabroadhasriseninpopularity.Threeyearsago,NationalChengchiUniversitywasTaiwan’sfirsttoestablishsuchcollaborationwithPurdueUniversityforfieldstudies,creatinganewparadigmininternationalacademicexchanges.Collaborationsstartedoutwithoneuniversity,nowgrowingtoatotaloffouruniversitiesthisyear.Withanaccumulationofexperience,studyabroadteachingmethodshavebecomeincreasinglydiversified.Apartfromalong-termstablepartnershipwithPurdueUniversity,CNCCUcurrentlyalsohasabilateralstudyprograminplacewithUniversityofInnsbruck,Austria,andatailoredcurriculumforstudentsfromUniversitaCommercaleL.Bocconi,Italy.Furthermore,studentsfromUniversidadTecnologicaCentroamericana,Honduras,willalsobevisitinginJunethisyear.Comparingtoothermeansofexchanges,studyabroadseemstoprovideanaddedvalueoffirst-handexperiencewithlocalbusinessmarkets.政大商學院擁有國內最國際化的教學環境，簽訂的海外姊妹校居全台之冠，在促進和各校移地教學之餘，更希望各國菁英透過短期的參訪，進一步萌生來臺交...
