第 3 课时 (Section B)单 词1 ． when, while 与 as辨析(1)when 既可以和延续性动词连用，也可以和短暂性动词连用；而 while 和 as 只能和延续性动词连用。如：Sorry, I was out when you called me.(call 为短暂性动词 ) 对不起，你打电话时我刚好外出了。Strike while the iron is hot.(is 为延续性动词，表示一种持续的状态 ) 趁热打铁。The students took notes as they listened.(listen 为延续性动词 )学生们边听课边做笔记。(2) 当主句、从句动作同时进行，从句动作的时间概念淡化，而主要表示主句动作发生的背景或条件时，只能用 as 。这时，as 常表示“随着……”“一边……，一边……”之意。如：The atmosphere gets thinner and thinner as the heightincreases. 随着高度的增加，大气越来越稀薄。(3) 在将来时态的从句中，常用 when ，且从句须用一般时表将来。如：When the manager comes here for a visit next week, I'll talkwith him about this. 下周，经理来这参观时，我会和他谈谈此事。2 ． hope点拨 hope 意为“希望，期望”，后常跟动词不定式，构成 hope to do sth. ， 意为 “ 希望做某事 ” ， hope 后不能跟somebody 做宾语。辨析hope 与 wish(1)hope 用作动词时，后面可接不定式或 that 从句，但不能接“宾语＋不定式”。 wish 用作动词时，后面接不定式或“宾语＋不定式”都可以，其意义相当于 would like 或 want 。(2)wish 接 that 从句时一般表示某种强烈而又难以实现的“ 愿望”，而 hope 表示的是可以实现或能达到的“希望”。如：I hope you will like the flowers.( 能实现的愿望 ) 我希望你喜欢这些花。I wish I were a bird.( 不能实现的愿望，用虚拟语气 ) 我希望我是一只鸟儿。(3)wish 可表示良好的“祝愿”，后面接“宾语＋宾语补足语 ( 形容词或名词 )” 。而 hope 不能这样用。如：I wish you a pleasant journey. 祝你旅途愉快。 ( 不能用 hope)短 语pull down点拨pull down 意为“拆下；摧毁”。 pull 意为“拉；扯”，其反义词为 push 。 down 在此意为“向下”。词组 pull down 后可直接跟宾语。如：The workers are pulling a bridge down. 工人们正在拆桥。
