These regulators can provide localon-card regulation, eliminating the distributionproblems associated with single point regulation.Eachtypeemploysinternalcurrentlimiting,thermal shut-down and safe area protection,making it essentially indestructible. If adequateheat sinking is provided, they can deliver over0.5A output current.
