This study aims to investigate the total flavonoid activity of 9 Polypodiaceae family plants and to further identify the flavonoid components in the Red-scaled Polypody. The total flavonoid content of 9 Polypodiaceae plants was determined by ultrasound extraction and sample dilution method, and their antioxidant activity was assessed by DPPH free radical scavenging assay. At the same time, liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry were used to identify the flavonoid components in Red-scaled Polypody. The results showed that the total flavonoid content of all plant samples was between 0.371 and 5.697 mg/g, and the IC50 value of their antioxidant capacity was between 30.51 and 97.49 μg/mL. Six flavonoid compounds were detected in Red-scaled Polypody, among which the most important one was catechin.Keywords: Polypodiaceae plants; total flavonoid content; antioxidant; liquid chromatography; mass spectrometry; flavonoids
