However, acrylonitrile is a highly toxic and harmful substance, which can cause serious harm to human health and the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to develop effective methods to degrade acrylonitrile. Bacteria and activated carbon fiber (ACF) are two commonly used methods for the degradation of acrylonitrile. Objectives:The aim of this study is to investigate the catalytic effect of AN bacteria-ACF system on the degradation of acrylonitrile. Specifically, the objectives are as follows:1. To isolate and identify AN bacteria from wastewater containing acrylonitrile.2. To prepare and characterize ACF.3. To evaluate the catalytic degradation performance of AN bacteria-ACF system on acrylonitrile.Methodology:1. Isolation and identification of AN bacteria: Wastewater samples containing acrylonitrile will be collected from industrial sites. AN bacteria will be isolated from the wastewater samples using a nutrient agar medium. The AN bacteria will be identified through morphological, physiological and biochemical tests.2. Preparation and characterization of ACF: ACF will be prepared by using polyacrylonitrile (PAN) as a precursor. The ACF will be characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) method.3. Degradation performance of AN bacteria-ACF system: AN bacteria and ACF will be added to aqueous solutions 精品文档---下载后可任意编辑containing acrylonitrile. The degradation performance of AN bacteria-ACF system will be evaluated by analyzing the concentration of acrylonitrile using gas chromatography (GC) and monitoring the changes in pH and temperature.Expected outcomes:This study is expected to provide a new approach for the degradation of acrylonitrile. AN bacteria-ACF system may have a catalytic effect on acrylonitrile, and the degradation performance may be improved by adjusting the pH and temperature. This study may contribute to the development of new methods for the treatment of wastewater containing acrylonitrile.
