However, many EFL learners struggle with using the simple past tense correctly and effectively in their writing. This study aims to investigate the effect of marker functionality of simple past tense on EFL writing and how it affects the quality of writing.Research question:How does the marker functionality of simple past tense affect EFL writing, and does it have an impact on the quality of writing?Objectives:1) To identify the common errors made by EFL learners in using simple past tense.2) To investigate the marker functionality of the simple past tense and its impact on the quality of writing.3) To provide evidence-based recommendations for improving EFL learners’ writing proficiency in using simple past tense.Methodology:This study will be conducted using a mixed-methods approach. A survey questionnaire will be distributed to 100 EFL learners to gather quantitative data on their writing performance and perceptions regarding the use of simple past tense. Furthermore, 10 essays will be collected from the participants, which will be analyzed qualitatively to identify the common errors made in using simple past tense, as well as to evaluate the quality of writing with regard to the marker functionality of simple past tense.Expected results:精品文档---下载后可任意编辑The study is expected to reveal how the marker functionality of simple past tense influences the quality of EFL writing.
