In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve agricultural production, it is necessary to evaluate and explore the potential emission reduction capacity of nitrogen fertilizer in the production and application.This study will use a life cycle assessment method to estimate the CO2 and N2O emissions in the production and application of chemical nitrogen fertilizer in China and evaluate their emission reduction potential. The specific steps include: 1) collecting and analyzing data and statistics on nitrogen fertilizer production and application; 2) using a life cycle assessment tool to calculate the CO2 and N2O emissions in the process of nitrogen fertilizer production and application; 3) evaluating emission reduction potential and proposing corresponding emission reduction measures.
