This paper will compare the teaching psychology of physical education in China and the West, analyze the characteristics of physical education under two cultural backgrounds and the theoretical and practical framework of teaching psychology. The research method adopts the systematic literature review method to collect classic research literature on teaching psychology of physical education in China and the West. The results show that there are significant differences between Chinese and Western physical education in values, teaching objectives, teaching methods, and student roles. Western physical education pays more attention to individual development and self-realization, emphasizes student subjectivity and diverse teaching methods. Chinese physical education emphasizes group values and social responsibility, and focuses on the fundamental, health, and standardized nature of school physical education.
