In order to explore the phenomenon of passive translation from the perspective of English-Chinese comparison, this research project will investigate the following research questions:1. What is the definition of passive translation, and what are the common causes of passive translation in translation practice?2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of passive translation, and under what circumstances is it an appropriate translation strategy?3. What are the main differences between English and Chinese passive structures, and how do these differences affect the translation of passive sentences?4. What are the most effective translation strategies for dealing with passive structures in English and Chinese, and how can translators ensure the accuracy and fluency of translations while avoiding passive constructions?To answer these research questions, this project will conduct a comprehensive survey of existing literature on passive translation, as well as analyze a large corpus of English and Chinese texts to identify patterns and trends in the use of passive structures. Through this analysis, this project aims to provide a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of passive translation and to propose effective translation strategies for overcoming its common challenges.
