As a result, vocational colleges have attached great importance to English teaching and learning, especially in specialized areas. However, the classroom teacher discourse in comprehensive English classes in vocational colleges, especially in high vocational and technical colleges, is still an important issue. The present study aims to investigate the current status of teacher discourse in these classes, and explore effective strategies for improving teacher discourse.Objectives: The objectives of the study are as follows:1. To investigate the features of classroom teacher discourse in comprehensive English classes in high vocational and technical colleges. 2. To identify the problems and challenges faced by English teachers in their classroom discourse. 3. To explore the factors affecting teacher discourse and their influence on student learning. 4. To propose effective strategies for improving teacher discourse in comprehensive English classes in vocational colleges.Methodology: The present study is designed as a qualitative research. The researcher will conduct semi-structured interviews with English teachers who teach comprehensive English classes in high vocational and technical colleges. The interviews will be conducted individually and will follow a pre-set interview protocol. Data Analysis: The data collected from the interviews will be analyzed using a qualitative content analysis approach. The transcripts from the interviews will be coded for themes and categories. The codes will then be organized into categories and subcategories, and the frequency of the categories will be reported. Expected Outcomes: It is expected that this study will contribute to a better understanding of the current status of teacher discourse in comprehensive English classes in high vocational and technical colleges.
