2.Erich Fromm's Theory of Alienation of Affection2.1 Erich Fromm and His TheoryFromn was a great psychologist from Germany, and what he most successful did in his life is first proposed the conception of the Frankfurt School of critical theory. What is more, he also is a successful humanistic philosopher, and democratic socialist. His parents are pious Jewish. In 1918, Fromn begun his study career, and jurisprudence was his first study field. And about one year later, he transferred to the University of Heidelberg. In this school, he didn’t study jurisprudence any more, but to concentrate his attention in the field of sociology. About 3 years later, he finally got his PhD in sociology from Heidelberg. With time flying, he gradually gained more knowledge about different subjects, such as he begun study clinical in 1927.A few years later, because the change of political, Fromm could not bear the rule of Nazi in Germany, he decided to move to another country to live a better life, including himself and his family members. Then he chose Geneva as the next country where he would live. Later, he moved again, and this time he chose America as the country, he lived in Columbia University.
